Expert financial advice is recommended when looking at the options for funding care and time4care can ensure you receive this.
As part of this process it is always wise to find out what support, if any, is available from government sources. This is a complex area and is currently the subject of a government consultation process, the outcome of which is uncertain.
However the following will provide an insight in to the areas that you should be considering and asking time4care about:
- Social Services Support via your Local Authority – this will be based on an assessment of care needs and/or a financial assessment. Your adviser will guide you through the criteria, for example when a property is and isn’t included in a means test.
- State benefits via the Department for Work & Pensions – these can include Attendance Allowance, which is not means tested, Pension Credit and Carer’s Allowance.
- NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) - this is a care package of continuing care arranged and funded solely by the NHS where it has been assessed that the individual’s primary need is a health need.
